On October 10th, 2024, the team from Acute Business Advisory gathered at the Sett Valley Trail Carpark, ready to tackle the Derbyshire 3 Peak Challenge. With the sun shining and a brisk breeze in the air, spirits were high as we set off on our adventure to conquer three of Derbyshire’s stunning peaks!
The journey began with a challenging ascent that would take us to a breathtaking height of 867 meters. Our first peak, Higher Shelf Stones, set the tone for the day, quickly followed by Bleaklow Head. The panoramic views were nothing short of spectacular, and our morale soared as we soaked in the natural beauty surrounding us.
However, the real test lay ahead. The long trek back led us to Kinder Scout, where the climb became increasingly strenuous. There were moments when the thought of cutting our journey short crossed our minds, but that idea was swiftly overruled. We pressed on, determined to complete the challenge.
As the sun began to set, we found ourselves still on Kinder Scout, and it was time to bring out the head torches. With our eyes set on the goal, we kept our heads down and pushed through. Some team members battled injuries at this point, but the spirit of teamwork and camaraderie shone through, driving us to dig deep and get it done!
After over 10 hours of walking and covering 34 kilometres, we finally made our way back to civilisation. The sense of achievement was incredible. Together, we not only conquered the peaks but also managed to raise a staggering £1,331 for Food 4 Thought, Derby Alliance, which supports 15 food banks across the region.
A heartfelt thank you goes out to everyone who donated. Your generosity kept us going during those tough moments on our descent from Kinder Scout. Together, we made a real difference in our community, and we couldn’t be more grateful for your support!
Here’s to more adventures, more challenges, and making a positive impact together!
